Whether you're publishing your first novel, an in-house company magazine, a coffee-table book or a coaching institute's study material, the print partner you choose makes a huge difference. From paper selection to binding to delivery on schedule — dozens of small decisions decide how your finished book feels in a reader's hand.
At Sree Creative in Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar, Hyderabad, we have produced books, magazines, study guides and annual reports for authors, schools, NGOs and companies across HITEC City, Gachibowli, Banjara Hills and Hyderabad for 15 years. Here's what you should know before you place your first order.
Standard Sizes for Books and Magazines
Most fiction and non-fiction books print at Demy 1/8 (5.5 × 8.5 inch) or Crown 1/8 (4.75 × 7.25 inch). Textbooks usually run A5 or B5. Coffee-table books are typically A4 landscape. Magazines almost always print A4. Coaching study material is most often Crown 1/4 or A4. Tell us the use case and we'll suggest the right trim size.
Paper Choice for Inner Pages and Cover
Novels and study material usually use 70–80 GSM maplitho or cream wove inner pages — easy on the eyes and lightweight. Magazines and brochures use 90–130 GSM art paper for vibrant photography. Covers typically print on 250–300 GSM art card with matte lamination, or 220 GSM soft-touch for premium books. Hardcover books use 2.5–3 mm boards wrapped in printed paper or cloth.
Binding Options Explained
Saddle stitch (two staples on the spine) works up to ~48 pages — magazines, brochures and small booklets. Perfect binding (glued spine) is the standard for novels, textbooks and most paperbacks, 60–500 pages. Section sewn with hardcover is the most premium for coffee-table books and limited editions. Wiro and spiral binding suit workbooks and calendars where pages need to lie flat.
Quantities, Offset vs Digital
For short runs (50–300 copies) of a book or magazine, digital printing is faster and avoids plate costs. For 500+ copies, offset typically becomes more economical and gives better colour consistency. We'll share both options when we quote so you can pick what suits the budget and timeline.
ISBN, Proofing and What You Should Ask For
Always ask for a physical dummy or digital proof before going to press. Check trim, gutter, page numbers, image sharpness and colour. If you're publishing for sale, apply for an ISBN well in advance and include it on the back cover with a barcode. Sree Creative will share a checklist so nothing is missed.

We can print short runs from 50 copies on digital, all the way to thousands of copies on offset. We pick the right press based on your quantity and finish.

Yes. Our design team handles full book layout, cover design, typesetting and image preparation in addition to printing.
Q3. How long does a typical book print job take?
For a standard 200–300 page paperback, expect 7–12 working days from final files to delivered copies. Hardcover and special finishes need a few days more.
